ABOUT COMMON GROUND CO+
In a literal sense, having common ground is about having shared interests, opinions and ideas - it's a term that reiterates connection and kinship. But common ground also has a physical dimension, bringing to life the idea that what unites us as humans, animals and plants, is that we all share one home - earth.
Global inequality, social injustice and the climate and mass extinction crises are just some of the problems hailed as the issues of our generation. Common Ground Co+ will be our platform, and we hope, the platform of others, to celebrate, discuss, debate and amplify the stories of people and planet in this time of urgency.
WRITE WITH US
This is where the Co+ comes in (whether it stands for collection, collaboration, cooperation, co (prefix) meaning 'coming together' - we don't quite know ourselves). What we do know is that we want this platform to be a home not just for us, but for anyone else who feels they have something they want to share. Don't be shy, we want to hear from anyone who has a story of people or planet and are looking for a platform to amplify their voice.
WHO WE ARE
With the aim of having a positive and meaningful impact in all she does, ChessFearnley. launched Common Ground Co+ in 2020 to act as a vehicle to encourage others, especially young people, to feel that they create movements and knockdown barriers by writing about the causes that matter to them - from plastic pollution to female empowerment. She is a firm advocate for the power of individual action and encouraging others to create change in their communities.
